To achieve our goal to deliver a carbon neutral campaign in 2024, ClimatePartner, a leading solution provider for climate action, will help us calculate and reduce emissions generated and compensate unabated emissions through internationally recognised carbon offset projects.
Our climate action strategy is to reduce our carbon footprint before we offset emissions.
To do this, ClimatePartner provides us with a set of guidelines.
We will share these with you...
Together with ClimatePartner we offset unabated emission through the support of internationally recognised carbon offset projects.
Our climate action is confirmed by the ClimatePartner label and fully transparent by our unique ID-Tracking.
Where we cannot reduce or avoid emissions, we compensate by supporting internationally recognised carbon offset projects. These make a decisive contribution to combating global warming by demonstrably saving greenhouse gases. In addition, they promote sustainable development in the project countries, measured by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Close to the town of De Aar, in the middle of South Africa’s Northern Cape Province, are 96 wind turbines that have been producing an average of 439,600 MWh of electricity per year since 2017. The electricity is fed into the grid of the Republic of South Africa (RSA).
ClimatePartner’s carbon offset projects are all aligned with the United Nations Sustainable development goals, as follows:
With more than 5,000 customers in 60+ countries, ClimatePartner has developed strong expertise in corporate climate action.

Companies, processes or products are considered carbon-neutral when their greenhouse gas emissions are measured and offset by supporting internationally recognised carbon offset projects. In addition to avoiding and reducing the emissions (which are two key elements of climate action), offsetting is an important step that helps to ensure a holistic approach to climate action.
Carbon offset projects help to remove or prevent greenhouse gases from staying in/or entering the atmosphere through initiatives like forest protection, afforestation, or renewable energy development. In addition, carbon offset projects contribute to sustainable development in project countries, for example, by ensuring the supply of clean drinking water or by developing local infrastructures which create employment opportunities for local communities and help to preserve biodiversity.
To obtain certification, all carbon offset projects must meet the following criteria: additionally, exclusion of double counting, permanence and regular verification by an independent third party.
The term “climate neutral” is often used interchangeably with the term “carbon neutral”. The latter is accepted as the official version and established in international contracts. The main difference between the two terms is that “climate neutral” considers all relevant greenhouse gases (as CO2 equivalents), while “carbon neutral” focuses on CO2.
